STEM PROGRAM

The STEM of Education

In the month of May, the Hudson PLAY program turned its attention to STEM. Students engaged in a plethora of activities that heightened their knowledge of science and critical thinking skills. Here are some of the activities that STEM students engaged in:

Students learned about structural security and used their critical thinking and competed in groups to construct the tallest tower out of marshmallows and dry pasta.

PLAY kids coded their own websites using visual editing software, which was used to change the news to interpreting code into digital drawings.

Using Ozobot technology, students learned to interpret instructions to teach them to Artificial Intelligence, which ran along with paper obstacle courses that were color-coded by students to progress through.

PLAY kids manipulated the environment around them, making Rube Goldberg machines with recycled objects to learn about physics and momentum.
